Verse of the Day - Exodus 18:20

Verse of the Day - Exodus 18:20 - "And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and thou shalt show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do." In this verse, God commands Moses to command His people. Here we find two "musts". We find a way wherein we must walk, and a work that we must do. Many times in Christianity we take the "musts" of God and turn them into "maybe's". We take that which is authoritative and make it optional. We take a command and make it a consideration. The word "must" is inflexible. If God reveals to us a way in which to walk or live, and work that we must do, then by definition we must do them. A walk of holiness in our lives is a MUST. The work of God ordained in and through us is a MUST. The moment must enters the room, optional leaves. Far too many Christians are taking God's "musts" far too lightly. Let us learn as the Israelites learned, the way wherein we must walk and the work that we must do. The moment these two areas become options that we weigh out in our heart, the sooner we find ourselves as lord of our lives, captains of the ship, lead pilot, and CEO over our hearts. Remember that we are "bought with a price, we are not our own." When God says must, let us say YES.
